August 9-16, 2008. The Garrett County Democratic Party sponsored the Democrats booth at the 52nd Annual Garrett County Fair held in McHenry, Maryland. A Presidential Straw Poll was provided for all interested patrons, regardless of party affiliation or place of residence.

July 26, 2008. Jennifer Dougherty's Great American Hot Dog Chase was held at Rotary Park in Oakland, Maryland. Pictured third from left is Jennifer Dougherty.

June 16, 2008. The 2008 Garrett County Jefferson-Jackson Dinner was held at Wisp Mountain Resort in McHenry, Maryland. The keynote speaker was Michael Cryor, Maryland Democratic Party Chairman, and the guest speaker was Jennifer Dougherty, District 6 Congressional Candidate. A Chinese auction was held, and canned food and monetary donations were collected for House of Hope. Live music was performed by the Sugarfoot Stompers.
